To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. 

 

In 2018 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.  In May 2024, I reached my 5 year remission target and so it seems like the year to give back by doing the Run for the Cure.  I have wanted to complete this run for the past few years however my body has not cooperated but I now feel like I can complete this feat for myself.  There are so many impacts of fighting this disease for many individuals and families, including financial implications, that occur long after treatment is done.  I discovered this as I underwent treatment.  There are many medications that are not covered by provincial and extended health benefits, travel costs, hotels, meals and the list goes on.  I was unaware until I was diagnosed of all that myself and our family would face.  With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research as well as support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
