Though my mother has always been one of the roses we ran for, this year, I continue to run especially for her. 12 years ago, my mother was the recipient of life saving treatments like surgery, chemo, and radiation. This, along with supports that are funded by the Canadian Cancer Society, helped my mother through a difficult time, until she was cancer free. After many healthy years, the cancer returned two years ago, and the previous treatments are not an option. Thankfully, through ground-breaking research, there are new treatments available. One’s that will assist my mother to live a longer healthy life, blessing us with more time together.

By participating in this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, I am helping change the future of breast cancer. I am running in honour of the incredible mother in my life, and I need your support!
