Breast cancer is the 2nd most common cancer in Canada and it is estimated that about 1 in 8 Canadian women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime.

It is devasting to hear the words “you have breast cancer.” I heard these ominous words in June 2011 and spent the next year enduring surgery, 6 rounds of chemotherapy & a month of daily radiation treatments. This was followed by months of recovery. I am now a proud 12 year survivor!!

Breast cancer can be a challenging journey, and the support of family, friends, and organizations like the Canadian Cancer Society is invaluable. The Canadian Cancer Society not only funds ground breaking research, but also plays a crucial role in providing support and resources for those affected by breast cancer. Breast cancer affects not only the physical health of individuals but also their emotional and psychological well-being. The support and resources offered by the Canadian Cancer Society can help individuals navigate their cancer journey more effectively, providing them with the information, counseling, and assistance they need.
