Hello Friends and Family,

I am once again participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure this year. I am a  two time breast cancer survivor and I truly want to believe that we can find a cure for breast cancer. I have been connected with the CIBC Run for the Cure for 21 years so for all the people out there that have heard the words you have cancer remember that survivors are living longer and so can you.

The picture attached is the Wall of Hope that Doug (my husband) designed and painted for the Run.  The Tom Baker Cancer Centre put it up to encourage cancer patients that there is life after cancer.  

The first time I went through treatment it was not as aggressive as the second time round. The second time treatment consisted of me going to the hospital and getting in a bed for 8 hours to be given the chemotherapy and then the next week it would be 4 hours. I was given a break the third week so my body could get ready for the next treatment session.

I did this for for half a year with my husband and sister in tow to help me. I remember thinking I would not wish this on anyone and there were times I did not know for sure if I could go back to the hospital for another treatment.

When I hear of a friend that has to go through treatment it breaks my heart.

We do have people living longer but will never be cancer free. They continue to live as best they can with out treatment because the treatment no longers works for them.

I have lost friends from this terrible disease and I really do not want to go to any more funerals.

We need to stop this disease so Please consider making a donation no matter how small to help rid the world of breast cancer.
