An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada. To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024. I had a perfect exam ( Jan 31, 2023)  and was told I could wait 2 years for my next mammogram.  Within 3 weeks, everything changed I was feeling extremely exhausted and pressure against my rib on my left side. Fast forward to a new mammogram and biopsy and specialized CTscan on March 16th. Well I knew all ready when I could see the mass that it was cancer before the actual diagnosis.  Triple Negative and a large mass attached to my chest wall. I have gone through chemo and surgery and next step is radiation .We are not alone in our fight!!  I will win!

Well it is 1 year since  my Cancer was diagnosed.  Each day is a new day and a step in the right direction  Having some long lasting side effects from treatment are difficult, however it outweighs the cancer itself.  I am proud of what I have accomplished and continue to support other women in Edmonton and area going through this!
