To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. 

 

I’ve known family members and friends that had been affected by cancer. I’ve known cancer survivors that had swift successful treatments, but also a few that had undergone painful treatments and suffered a diminished quality of life due to side-effects of treatments. And despite enduring treatments, it may still lead to deterioration of the body and eventual death in worst cases.

My hope is, with what little I can do, to walk/run to raise funds in support of lifesaving research in a kinder, more effective treatments for people diagnosed with cancer. By all means, I’m not a runner so I won’t be galloping my way in this 5k track. But hopefully with every step I take, it will mean progress towards improving conditions against the tremendous human and economic tolls of cancer.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
