To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

I am not a seasoned runner - in fact, I don't even run on a regular basis. But this year, I've decided to lace up my shoes and hit the pavement for a cause that is incredibly important to me and to all the people whose lives have been affected by this disease: raising funds for cancer research.

This cause is personal to me as I am running in honor of my aunt, who was diagnosed with DCIS in 2020. After a brief remission, cancer has returned, more aggressive than before and she is currently undergoing chemo treatments. My aunt's strength and resilience inspire my family every day, and with my little participation, I am committed to take part in the fight against this disease.

Cancer impacts countless lives, and its toll is both human and economic. Every small step we take can contribute to something much larger. It is about making progress, however modest, toward improving treatments and finding a cure.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
