To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

In the past year I have personally experienced the impact that fundraising has on the science and research to achieve better treatment and survival outcomes.

The day I was given my rates of survival and how they would improve with various treatments I knew I had to go for the gusto and hit the ground running.

I was lucky to have an incredible support system with my family and friends as well as an amazing oncology and medical team throughout my journey.

I hope that continued funding from events like Run for the Cure will continue to provide even better results and supports for those who will fight their battles in the future.
