An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada.

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

This year, I was touched by the loss of a young lady whom I had met earlier in the year. She was a young mother to 2 children, and a loving wife. She seemed perfectly fine to me, happy and healthy, but I did not know that she was fighting breast cancer. This beautiful woman, only 37 years old, lost her battle recently, after 8 years since her diagnosis. Her family is devastated. I was deeply touched, as her husband turned to me to help him with his finances, since his wife handled everything.  I tried my best to help him, by doing anything to make the process of her passing and having to deal with her estate, as easy as possible. It has been an incredible eye-opener to the fact that ANYONE can have this horrible disease.   

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.

P.S. Did you know? Fundraising $300 can fund help provide healthy home-cooked meals for guests at a Canadian Cancer Society lodge during their stay. Lodge guests receive wholesome foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, and meals customized to their dietary needs including those arising from cancer treatment, like liquid and soft food diets.
