To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

My story: I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2023. It turns out I had Stage 2A invasive ductal and lobular carcinoma. Within six weeks I was in surgery, then 12 weeks later was living away from my family in Edmonton for a month to undergo extensive radiation therapy.  To say it shook me to my core is the understatement of the century.  The fabulous news is that in December 2023 my amazing oncologist declared me cancer free and released me as his patient. The healing has taken time. Cancer and its treatments take a massive toll on your body, mind, and spirit. I’m walking on Oct 6th to support those who need it most.
