Why are we running?

2022 is when it started with a diagnosis of Inflammatory Breast Cancer.  Paige did all the treatments/surgeries and we thought we were in the clear with a “No Sign of Disease” in Febraury 2023.

Recently however, we have learned Paige’s Cancer has returned and spread to her ovaries and fallopian tubes (which she had removed to help deal with side effects from hormone therapy) but also her bones, liver and possibly a lung.  Now she gets to fight this horrible disease for the rest of her life.  Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer.  

We are fundraising and praying that new treatments become available to fight and cure this monster before it is too late for many women and men, including Paige.  

We are participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024, because we believe better treatment options and survival outcomes are possible. And we want to support all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, including our family and friends.
