One of my dear friends, Lisa Spicer, has been going through treatment for breast cancer. She has been a teacher and a principal for her whole career. She has given her time, energy and love to the community of Red Deer with dedication and a passion for children.

Her treatment was rigorous and long.

Breast cancer also has had a significant impact on my life since the fall of 2008 when my mom was diagnosed. After that, two of my aunties were also diagnosed. Every year since that time I have had an annual mammogram, and I am mindful that of how breast cancer may one day touch my life, or the lives of my three sisters.

To show my support for Lisa and all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
