An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada

First of all I’ve been going for mammogram testing every year for the last 10 years because of  breast cancer history in my family.

A year ago I sat at my doctors office and he explained to me my breast biopsy result , the word CANCER brought me to tears and the question "why me?" I've always been generally healthy so the mere thought of cancer made me panic and asking him "am I dying?"   He then explained to me that what I have was a pre-cursor to cancer an abnormal cell on my breast that they found on my biopsy result that has to be removed through surgery and probably radiation therapy after. He calmed me down and said no you're not dying as a matter of fact you will live up to a 100 because you were proactive of your own health and we detected this at a very early stage. 

Fast forward to the day I met the specialist and an oncologist who explained to me the radiation treatment I needed to complete.What  to expect and some minor side effects I may experience.
I remembered my first treatment as I lay on that table the thoughts running on my head how precious life is and how grateful I am to have a loving family and few friends  (you know who you are)  who supported me through all these. 

I completed my 16 radiation treatments on April 3. My radiation burns on my right breast is a constant reminder of how resilient and brave I am to face this life obstacle that  come my way. Both my grandma and auntie died of breast cancer and this fundraising means a lot to me. I’m a health care worker and I’ve met and cared for cancer patients this alone makes me more passionate with this cause.

So please I’m urging people to donate this fundraiser for the cure, your monetary donation will help a lot of people impacted with breast cancer.

Lodge guests receive wholesome foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, and meals customized to their dietary needs including those arising from cancer treatment, like liquid and soft food diets.
