I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 1, 2023, for Lesley Trethewey.

I have known Lesley for over 5 years when she became my manager at Interior Savings Insurance.  Lesley is an amazing person, always positive and willing to help anyone out.

Lesley first discovered a lump through self examination in 2022 and after seeing her doctor a diagnostic mammogram was arranged that December and an urgent biopsy was recommended and completed in January 2023.  Those results, along with results from additional tests done in February provided a diagnosis of stage 3, Triple Negative Breast Cancer.  Lesley started 8 cycles of chemotherapy treatment at the end of February 2023 to shrink the aggressive, fast growing cancer.  She still has many months of treatment left that includes surgery, radiation therapy and immunotherapy.

Lesley has been so strong the last 9 months and has showed so much positivity and resilience - she is a fighter!!!  She has sooo many people supporting her from her family, friends, co-workers and her slo-pitch ball community.
