Breast cancer has impacted my life and those I care deeply.  My GrandMa died of it and all the women in my family have inherited the BRCA1 gene.  I was diagnosed the same time the pandemic started in 2020, had a mastectomy that took out all the cancer cells and currently on hormonal therapy (4 years and counting...1 more year to go!).  I am proud to call myself a Breast Cancer Survivor. 

The Canadian Cancer Society has been a big help to me during those trying times.  They provided me with a sincere support sytem and paid for mastectomy bra, puffs and breast prostheses when I had nothing to pay for them.  With utmost gratitude, I felt the authentic need to give back.

And so,  I am excited to be participating again in this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. I have been supporting this event since 2017.  It’s a cause close to my heart where running and fundraising is a way for me to help all Canadians impacted by breast cancer.
