This year, the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. happens to fall on my birthday, October 6, and I am incredibly proud and excited to take part in this race for my beloved mom. Four years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and today, she is in remission after a long and courageous battle.

Throughout her treatment, whether it was chemotherapy, radiation, or targeted therapies, my mom never gave up. Even on her toughest days, she would pick up her Nordic walking poles and head to the mountains, staying active and resilient. Her motto, “Believe in yourself and live for life,” continues to inspire me every day.

I am running this race in honor of her and all the women who have fought or are still fighting breast cancer. The funds raised through this event will go toward groundbreaking research and essential support programs for those impacted by the disease.
