This is my first year participating in Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure,  and I am excited to contribute to a cause that supports individuals and families dealing with the life-changing impact of cancer. Both my grandmother and my best friend’s mom battled cancer. Though I wasn’t in their lives during their diagnoses, I know how deeply it affected them and their loved ones. My grandmother is no longer with us, and this is my way of honouring her memory—by helping others who are facing what she once did. I can't imagine life without my best friend’s mom who is one of the most kind and caring woman in my life, and I hope my contributions can, in some way, make a difference for those in similar situations.
