I have been doing this for nine years now and am glad to have been a long-time participant. I enjoy it because I like helping people and doing long walks (I am not much of a runner yet). I also like the satisfaction of finishing things, so I feel good when I finish the walk. When I do this walk, I think about all the general people I have helped over the years and will continue to help. I don't have anyone I know specifically who has cancer, which I am grateful for, but I think of all the other people in the world who have it. The run gives me a chance to make their lives better.  

My dad has been doing this run for fourteen years, which is why I started this in the first place.  I am surprised by the size of the crowd that I end up seeing every year when we are getting prepared to do the run, and seeing people on the run itself.  There sure are a lot of people doing the same thing that I am doing.  The staff that runs this are also super nice too, as well as everyone in the run. I also really like doing it with my family because I would rather do it with someone than just by myself, because I feel more involved doing it with someone instead of by myself. 

Not to brag, but I have been one of the top fundraisers most years, and I am proud to be the middleman that gives all these people a chance to live their best life again. I have gotten so high on the leaderboard, because all of my friends and family that help me donate, and raise awareness about this. Even for just the fact that I am helping people by “making money” always makes me happy, even if there was no run involved. I hope that this goes on for a long time, so that this thing will help educate people, raise awareness, and keep people having fun. I sure hope that people do not lose interest in this, as I really enjoy raising money for this cause and doing the run itself.
