In 2022,  Abreast in A Boat's Friends and Family team in Vancouver proudly raised the most money in this category!!!  In 2024, we are back to make an even bigger impact!  Walk with us or consider supporting our fundraising efforts!  The more the merrier!!  We are proof positive that there is so much more life to live - and its so much fun being their in a dragonboat too!

Abreast In A Boat is a registered charitable society whose mission is to demonstrate that women can live full, active and healthy lives after a diagnosis of breast cancer. Abreast In A Boat has a strong commitment to enhancing breast cancer awareness and to support breast cancer research.

We are structured as one breast cancer survivor dragon boat team with many crews who paddle in four lower mainland areas: Vancouver, Port Moody, Ladner, and Langley. In so doing, we raise awareness about breast cancer and promote the benefits of living a healthy and physically active lifestyle for others who have had breast cancer.

We paddle together, support, learn and laugh with each other. We relish our moments on the water and enjoy the thrill of competition. We break the silence of cancer, make new friends in the process, and we encourage others to get in the boat with us.

Our purposes are:

• to improve the physical and psychological well-being of people who have had breast cancer,
• to provide support to people whose breast cancer has recurred, and
• to support breast cancer research.
