On June 1, 2023, the world lost someone so very important and significant in my life - Brandi. I have known Brandi since she started with the company I work for and we worked along side one another for so many years. I also got to know her a bit outside of work at social get togethers and loved her humour and laughter. I have always looked up to Brandi and been in awe of her fun loving personality and joyfulness. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer I saw a whole other side to her.  She maintained her positivity and fight and was so strong. The chemo, radiation, removal and reconstruction was all encompassing - all the while with her two young boys. The things she endured and all the while continuing to work and put others needs in priority. She said it kept her going to not dwell on her own struggles and she was one of the strongest people I have ever known.  I was simply amazed at how she handled and dealt with everything on a day-to-day basis. Through her couragous 7 years of battle…A true warrior’s spirit with a beautiful soul. Brandi fought hard as the cancer changed and came back and she just never stopped hoping and fighting even until the end. Brandi had an impact on every person she met, and she meant something different to everyone. She will be forever missed and never forgotten. I love you Brandi!

2024 brings a chance to honor the memories of Brandi but also continue the fight against breast cancer as someone I support has been recently diagnosed and so I'm lacing up again to raise money for this cause!

 I am participating and I am fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024 because an estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada. My hope is that with your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
