This is my third year participating in the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure in support of those impacted by breast cancer. I have a very close connection with breast cancer as both my mom and my grandma have undergone treatment for breast cancer in the last several years. 

Supporting them through their treatment changed me in many ways, one of which is that I now wish to support others who are going through breast cancer treatment or who might be supporting a loved one. When someone has breast cancer, it challenges them and all those who love them in ways that are often hard to explain. I love volunteering with this team because it reminds me of that time but it also brings together the local community in a way that is truly remarkable. 

After participating in the Run for 1 year, I soon decided that I would like to play a more active role, and this is now my second year being involved in the Victoria event as the volunteer Run Day Experience Co-Lead. This role helps me bring together my passion for supporting all those impacted by breast cancer, as well as my love for event planning! 

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and hopefully make a difference for so many people. Each dollar I raise will fund breast cancer research as well as support programs and services to help those impacted by breast cancer.
