It's difficult to image receiving a cancer diagnosis. I was shocked to hear that I had invasive ductal carcinoma in the fall of 2015. I had a healthy lifestyle, regular exerciser, clean bill of health, no medical conditions so why and how did I get cancer!? I had completed the Hereditary Genetic program with no affirmative data from testing 76 cancer-related genes. Then last year my daughter, Francesca, at the age of 28 was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma - again a clean active lifestyle. So why? why? why? The one thing that seems crystal clear is that cancer does not discriminate. This is why I'm asking for your support by donating what you can from your hard earned dollars to help fund on-going research into causes of cancer. The environment plays a big role and is forever changing - continuing to support research efforts is vitally important. This is why I am participating and fundraising for this year's Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.
