An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada.

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

Most people have been affected by breast cancer in some way. For my family it was in 2019 when I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and under went surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. On Dec 5, 2023 this horrible disease showed it ugly head agin and I now  have Stage 4 metastatic Breast Cancer. What this means is the cancer is now on my bones. With this diagnosis no one has a crystal ball to tell you how long you can live with this. In the past year I have under went treatment for a good portion of the year that was not benefiting me and now trying a different treatment / chemo that will hopefully show some improvement. 

P.S. Did you know? Fundraising $300 can fund help provide healthy home-cooked meals for guests at a Canadian Cancer Society lodge during their stay. Lodge guests receive wholesome foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, and meals customized to their dietary needs including those arising from cancer treatment, like liquid and soft food diets.
