On February 12, 2022, I found a lump in my right breast. After a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy I was told that I had cancer. Initially it was expected that I would need a lumpectomy and radiation.  However, after the lumpectomy it was clear that there was more cancer in my breast. Radiation was cancelled, chemo started and a date was set for a mastectomy. I was heartbroken to know that I was going to lose a part of myself.

Two years, three surgeries and four rounds of chemo later I find myself blessed to be a Breast Cancer Survivor, able to lace up my running shoes and join in the fight to support the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year.  I am so happy to be alive to participate and fundraise for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. 

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those, like me, who are impacted by this disease.
