Last year, we lost our dear friend Kelly to breast cancer.  She was one of my oldest friends; we met at age 7 and shared many of life's milestones.  Despite living apart, we stayed close over the years, and her loss has been deeply painful.  Kelly leaves behind a loving husband and wonderful children, and it breaks my heart that she won't be there for the milestones in their lives.  She is deeply missed by many.  

However, I hold onto hope for the future of cancer care and research. My mother survived Lymphoma, and I know many others who have beaten cancer and continue to live full lives. Thanks to ongoing support, research, and new treatments, people are living longer and better despite cancer.  

To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and other cancers, and in honour of Kelly in particular,  I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. 

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
