In 2016 when I was just 25 years old I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Luckily, I caught it early enough! I did a double mastectomy with silicone implants, got a port installed and did 6 rounds of (rough) chemotherapy. After that I did 25 radiation therapy treatments and two more revision surgeries. 

I did 5 years of hormone therapy before I decided to stop in 2022. Fast forward to 2023 and I get rediagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to my lungs, liver and chest wall. I have cancer in my bones as well. 

The care I’ve received from the doctors, nurses and surgeons in the cancer care community is comparable to nothing else I’ve had.

With all the money, time and efforts many people have put into the research for a cure for breast cancer, I’ve been on a new drug called ribociclib. It’s a chemotherapy that is newer (wasn’t around for my first cancer) and is making my life so full! I’m able to do everything I love and more. I’m so thankful for the research that has been done because truly, without all of it I wouldn’t be here today.
