When you hear the words “it is breast cancer” you are never prepared. On August 28, 2020 I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer, which was detected in my yearly mammogram. The next several months consisted of surgery and radiation and I will continue with a 5 year hormone treatment. Four years later, things are looking very positive and I am encouraged every day to live life to the fullest.

It is through the support of family and friends that this journey I am now on is made easier.  Through the support of organizations such as the Run for the Cure research and new treatments are discovered.
