An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada. In August 2022, I became a member of the worst club with the best members. In part because of the amount of funds that have been raised through CIBC Run for the Cure and the resulting research that has happened, I got the best care from the best team, with the most up to date treatments available. Research is constantly evolving, and understanding this terrible disease has come so far in such a short amount of time. Early detection can truly make all the difference in prognosis and treatment options, so check yourself at least once a month! 

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating, as a Participant of Hope, and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

P.S. Did you know? Fundraising $300 can fund help provide healthy home-cooked meals for guests at a Canadian Cancer Society lodge during their stay. Lodge guests receive wholesome foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, and meals customized to their dietary needs including those arising from cancer treatment, like liquid and soft food diets.
