A single phonecall in September 2022 turned my world upside down and put me on a roller coaster ride I could have done without, most of you know me as the girl who loves to go on an adventure, well this is one adventure everyone could do with out. Breast Cancer came into my life and shook me to the core.

The next month was a whirlwind of appointments at the Breast Care Clinic at the IWK Hospital in Halifax, with the support of my family and my best running partner, we attended each apointment loaded down with a small ton of questions of "what ifs", armed with lots of information regarding my diagnosis, I was  to decide what course of treatment was best for me, a bilateral mastectomy, and on November 29th, I entered the hospital to have the surgery. 

My surgery went smoothly, no complications, recovery has been as expected. I have meet several women going through this journey who's recovery has been a very rocky road, and thru donations made the Cancer Society, has been able to provide them, the important support they required to ease the stress they and their families are under.  There is alot of work to be done in research to rid the world of breast cancer, and you donation can go a long way in supporting breast cancer patients. 

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6th in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I will be joined by my support crew of family members, the best friends a girl could ever have along with countless other "strong and brave" Warriors and their supporters, walking and running to make a difference.
