Did you know that 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer at some point during their lifetime? The statistics caught me in 2021, along with several friends near my age over the last few years. I will forever be grateful for the research that was completed prior to 2021 that allowed my doctors to suggest courses of actions and allowed me to make decisions about the invasiveness of surgery, whether or not to undergo radiation, chemotherapy, and antiestrogen medication. In the end, my choices were very personal, but they were entirely based on Breast Cancer research. To show my gratefulness and support I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.
