At the end of July 2023 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The last year has been an incredible journey of surgery, chemotherapy,  radiation and targeted immune therapy. Although it is a journey that no one wants to embark on, my journey was not only one of fear and uncertainty it was one of hope, positivity and amazing people along the way. That is what I focus on! With a husband, children, parents, sister, friends, colleagues and a school community that were there at every turn I did not travel this last year alone. With surgeons, oncologists and nurses who were knowledgeable, patient, kind and compassionate I was (and still am) well cared for every step of the way. It is without a doubt thanks to money raised through fundraising events such as Run for the Cure that researchers are making advances all the time so that I am now be a survivor!  I want to do my small part to help ensure that those who must endure a breast cancer diagnosis can claim the title of SURVIVOR. 

That's why I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.
