On December 28, 2023, my world changed. The hustle of day-to-day life as a 35-year-old wife, mother, dog mom, runner, and full-time employee of Nova Scotia Health all stopped when I heard the words - you have breast cancer. My life of juggling activity schedules and making sure we had clean clothes for the week became insignificant stressors in my life because now life and family routine needed to continue but instead with overwhelming treatment schedules, appointment organization, medication management, surgery planning, and mental and emotional stress of all the information. A cancer journey affects more than just the body it's in, it impacts everyone you share your life with.

To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. Every dollar raised will fund breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
