Breast cancer is affecting both moms to my nephews and niece.

Bonnie started her battle in Feb 2020. Despite 18 weeks of chemo, right mastectomy, radiation and immunotherapy treatments, cancer returned in Sept 2022. The warrior she is, continues the fight while undergoing a clinical trial of chemotherapy.

Amanda, in January 2024, after her very first screening, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, she has had a lumpectomy, 4 rounds of chemo and has just finished 20 rounds of radiation.

The little girl pictured with Amanda has matured beyond her years since her mom’s diagnosis. She knows her grandmother, Amanda’s mom also had breast cancer. As Amanda went through treatments, she had her little nurse Maggie by her side.

It is my hope, with cancer research, my precious little niece will never be plagued with this awful disease like her grandmother and my warrior sisters in law.
