The Blue Mountains/Collingwood: Lena Zepf

To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

This cause is deeply personal to me. In 2021, at the age of 35 and 17 weeks pregnant, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. My journey was long and grueling, involving chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, radiation, immunotherapy, and hormone therapy. This experience, while incredibly challenging, has taught me to slow down, cherish every moment, and view life through a positive lens.

Breast cancer is no longer a disease that only affects women later in life. Each year, more young women—including many who are pregnant—are being diagnosed. This growing trend underscores the urgency of advancing research and improving treatment options.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
