Every day, 70 Canadians will hear the words “you have breast cancer.”

 In 2011 my sister Kelly heard those very words. The result was multiple surgeries, gruelling chemo sessions, excruciating pain, and of course anxiety and fear. Our entire family felt helpless as we watched her navigate this terrible journey.  Thankfully she successfully battled this brutal disease, but for many the battle is lost.  There is still so much work to be done. I can't wait to join my family and friends at the CAA centre in Brampton. By participating in this year's Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, I'm joining a collective that is a force-for-life in the face of breast cancer. I am running to honour all those who have fought or are currently fighting this horrible disease.
