Dear Friends and Family,

I’m lacing up my running shoes for the CIBC Run for the Cure. My mom was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma in December 2021. Shortly after, her best friend since her 20s was also diagnosed. From that began, Breasties. Watching cancer take away her favourite things in life was heartbreaking, but watching her strength and resilience were even more powerful. She fought fiercely, kicked cancers butt, reclaiming her life and thriving more than ever before.

I also carry with me the cherished memory of my grandma, who was my fairy godmother in every sense. She’d dress up and let me wear anything I dreamed of. Her spirit and strength live on in my heart.
