Hello All,

I'm running in this race and supporting this great cause because of my mother-in-law. Three years ago, she discovered a mass in her breast, but due to the fear and stigma associated with cancer, she did nothing. That fear delayed her diagnosis, and it wasn’t until two years later that she was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer.

Thankfully, after undergoing chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation, my mother-in-law is now in full remission. Her story is a powerful reminder of how fear and stigma can prevent people from seeking the care they need, and how crucial early detection is in the fight against cancer.

Through this difficult journey, my wife, my brother-in-law, and I have learned a great deal—not just about her situation, but about the broader impact of breast cancer and the support systems available. This disease affects so many families, and there are steps we can all take to reduce our risk, like maintaining a low-inflammatory diet, exercising regularly, balancing our hormones, and minimizing exposure to harmful chemicals. While there is no guaranteed way to prevent cancer, we can all do something to improve our chances.
