I am walking for my God-sister,  Diane Smolovic. This is her story: 

I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma stage 2 in my right breast. This was an incidental finding on a routine CAT scan in December 2023. Subsequently, I had a mammogram and ultrasound that showed nothing, 3 months later an MRI confirmed my diagnosis. In May I opted for a double mastectomy as I was fearful of recurrence and now, I am waiting for another surgery in November. I am a lucky survivor; my pathology showed no lymphatic involvement and no need for chemotherapy. However, there are people out there that are still fighting this disease. I want to raise awareness that mammograms and MRIs are important together for early detection of this disease. 

I am walking for everyone.
