An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada.

I myself am a 21 year breast cancer survivor. I was fortunate to be cancer free after 3 surgeries and 5 years oral chemo, tamoxifen. So many are not. 

This year I’m running for my daughter, daughter in law, granddaughters and the memory of a good friend, BJ Sheba, who lost her 5 year battle with ovarian cancer this summer. There can be a genetic link between breast and ovarian cancer so it’s appropriate and I will  keep her spirit in my heart as I run (probably walk ) with all the amazing women on October 6, 2024.
