Back in February 2022, life took an unexpected turn for me when I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer at the age of 46. Since then, it's been a journey filled with highs and lows, and today, I'm standing before you not only as a survivor but also as someone who wants to spread hope and stand by those who are fighting their own battles against this relentless disease. This October marks two years in remission for me, a milestone that fills me with immense gratitude.

Let's rewind a bit. About a decade ago, in 2012, I found out I had the BRCA1 gene mutation, which was quite a surprise. Little did I know that this discovery would end up playing a huge role in saving my life. Fast forward to February 2022, thanks to a program I had been a part of, we caught the cancer in its early stages before I even experienced any symptoms. I can't even express how thankful I am for this timely intervention.Dealing with triple-negative breast cancer wasn't easy, even though it was caught early. I faced it head-on, going through sixteen rounds of chemotherapy and surgeries that truly tested my strength, both physically and emotionally. Through this challenging experience, I came to realize the importance of early detection and the incredible resilience that we all have within us, especially when faced with adversity.Not even one and a half years after my own treatment, my younger sister was diagnosed with cancer. It was a devastating blow, but it also deepened my resolve to fight for those who are facing similar challenges. I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for my family, who has been my rock through all of this. They've been a constant source of support, reminding me that we're in this together. I'm thrilled to be a Participant of Hope for a second year in the 2024 CIBC Run for the Cure and fundraising donations for a cause very close to my heart. Your generosity will go towards crucial programs that provide support to individuals dealing with breast cancer diagnoses, offering them the help they need when they need it most.This journey has taught me so much about the strength of the human spirit and the incredible power of community. I've come to understand that together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who are facing unexpected battles.From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support, your compassion, and your willingness to walk alongside me on this path.

Lodge guests receive wholesome foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, and meals customized to their dietary needs including those arising from cancer treatment, like liquid and soft food diets.
