Dear Friends,

This upcoming Sunday, October 6th, I will be participating in my ninth CIBC Run for the Cure!

This year is particularly special because I’ll be joining my son, Evan and his hockey teammates (Halton Hills Thunder U13AA). For the second year in a row, he, along with his friends and a group of supportive parents, are running and fundraising for this meaningful cause (see the picture from last year’s run!). Many of us share a deeply personal connection to this cause: several other hockey moms and I have faced the journey of a breast cancer diagnosis. Together, we are running as "Participants of Hope."

I know how important it is to attend the parade before the run, wearing our pink survivor shirts. It’s not just about us—it’s about showing others currently living with cancer that there is hope and a future. As I celebrate being 11 years cancer-free, I’m reminded every day of how crucial it is to support others on this journey.
