I am 1 in 8. My mother was also 1 in 8. She passed away from breast cancer when I was only 7 years old back in 1988. I have always feared getting breast cancer like my mother. A year ago, that fear came true when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was diagnosed early enough due to the high risk screening program because of my family history. It is because of this screening that my cancer was caught early. As a result, I am here today to tell my story. 

An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada.

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
