In 2017 my daughter’s best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer in her early 30s. She was a young mom of three and had to have a mastectomy and undergo all of the treatments. A team was put together to support her. I’d never liked running, but joined the team and ran for her.   Seven years later and she is doing great. However, this year both her aunt and her mother-in-law are undergoing treatment so she has rallied the troops and I am running again. In addition, a coworker of mine has had a year of surgeries and is also doing really well.  The list could go on and on.  We all know someone who has walked this road.
