In late August 2022, just months after the death of my beloved dad from cancer, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was de novo metastatic, meaning that it was Stage 4 right from the beginning. Since my diagnosis, I have undergone chemo, multiple surgeries, and radiation, and continue to receive immunotherapy treatments. It is a challenging road and I am so grateful for the incredible support of my family, friends, colleagues, and my outstanding medical team at the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario.

Our team is back again, raising funds for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Every dollar raised will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease. Because we are a metastatic breast cancer team, the funds we raise will go specifically to supporting research and programs for metastatic breast cancer. The strides made in research in this area will transform what it means to live with a terminal disease and open up new possibilities for improved survival outcomes. Last year’s run was amazing and as a team we raised more than $15000 - let’s see if we can do it again!
