As many of you know, my Mom passed away from cancer when I was 10 years old. She had breast cancer twice, as well as leukaemia. Two of my aunts have had breast cancer, as well as my grandmothers on both my mom & dads side of the family. This leaves my sister, my cousins & myself all at a very high risk to be diagnosed with breast cancer.
For as long as I can remember, we have participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure. Since my Mom passed away, we have been running in her honour, under the team name Sandy’s Legacy. We are running (anyone who knows me knows good & well I am walking not running...) again this year, & we have restarted our team!
I am running both in memory of my mom, as well as to raise money to fund cancer research for my future, as well as the rest of my family's. Every penny counts, it doesn't matter how large or how small the donation is.
Our team is hoping to raise $6500 this year, & my personal goal is to raise $1000. Please consider donating to myself, one of my teammates, or our team. If you can't do that, consider joining us and raising money to kick cancer's ass!
