Dear Family & Friends,

As many of you know, I lost my sister and friend, Sandy Friesen, on April 10, 2010 to Cancer. There is not a day that goes by that we do not miss Sandy, her bright spirit and amazing attitude, and it lives on in her beautiful daughters Sasha and Serena and lives on in our memories and dreams of her.

Our team is named in Sandy’s honour – “Sandy’s Legacy” and we are still going strong as a Team after 14 years!!

In 2019, after 20 years of being cancer free, my sister Julie’s breast cancer returned. I am happy to let you know that that she is doing great and enjoying every moment of being cancer free.

Similar to Julie, after 20 years of being cancer free, last fall through regular screening they found a lump in my breast.  Luckily it was stage 0 cancer, which is considered pre-cancerous, but they take this very seriously and treat it like a cancer.  The care we have in Kingston is amazing and this goes to show that every dollar you contribute to this horrible disease does make a difference!!

I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
