I am running for my mother Marilyn Hicks.  My mother was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in June of 2001.  She underwent a lumpectomy followed  by chemo and radiation treatment over the balance of that year.  This was followed by taking tamoxifen for 5 years and femara for the following subsequent 5 years. She faced this diagnosis with a determination and positive attitude knowing that with the treatment advancements she was receiving, a cancer free diagnosis would follow.  The song "I Will Survive" became her daily anthem and proved to be true!  My Mom remained cancer free for the next 21 years!

Unfortunately my mother was diagnosed in 2022 with endometrial cancer and her battle continues.  This makes the Run for the Cure just as important today!  Your support in this battle against cancer  continues to be just as important today!!!!!
