My name is Stephanie Cañada, and I’m a wife to an amazing husband and mom to three wonderful daughters. I’m 41 years old and I’m also a breast cancer survivor.

According to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetimes. 1 in 34 will die from it. And an average of 78 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

I was the one in eight.

On July 16th 2020 I received my official diagnosis - I had triple positive inflammatory breast cancer on my right side. I was informed by my new oncologist that I would need to undergo chemotherapy to shrink the tumour, then have a radical mastectomy.

Each day we are given here on this planet is a gift. And none of us know how long we’ll have.

I am running to provide more time to people who suffer from cancer - precious time with loved ones that can't be returned once it's gone.

I'm running for a cure.
