As a 4 year breast cancer Survivor, I would like to show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year by participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

I was diagnosed in my 40's. My treatment planning was greatly assisted by a specific and recent research development that quantified the benefit (or not) from chemotherapy for patients with a specific form of early stage breast cancer. The test helped my doctor determine how beneficial adjuvant chemotherapy would actually be for me and in part, spared me from gruelling chemotherapy. For that, I am thankful.

I believe even better treatment options and survival outcomes are possible. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
