Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge: Mary Ann Mooney

As many of you know I have been in treatment for breast cancer this summer. I have received excellent care during surgery and chemo. In one month’s time I will start radiation.

This treatment is lifesaving for me and is possible because of the continuous cancer research done over the years. I used to roll my eyes a little when I heard these kind of fundraisers but now I understand and appreciate how valuable they are in supporting those with a cancer diagnosis.

I have learned that 1 in 8 women will have breast cancer in their lifetime. That’s almost an unbelievable number! My daughter Lauren invited me to participate in this event and I agreed in order to support those who will receive their diagnosis in the future.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
